Two For the Core
Here are two great exercises to strengthen your midsection while you watch TV, says Ralph Simpson, Golf Digest Professional Advisor.
1. Side bridges
(Three reps, each side, hold for 15 to 30 seconds) strengthen the obliques, abs and hips. They also help prevent lower-back pain. Make sure the propped arm is under the shoulder.
2. Bird dogs
(Four reps, each side, hold for 15 to 30 seconds) strengthen the spinal and back muscles. Make sure you pull in on your core/abdomen as you do these.
